What’s a missed connection?
Missed connections are just that: a connection you made with someone in the city that you weren’t able to follow through. You might have held a door open for someone, lent someone a piso for jeepney fare, or simply locked eyes with a pretty stranger as she slipped into the ladies’ section of the train. Maybe that cute girl walking her dog through the subdivision, or that sweet dude on campus who’s always got his nose in a book. This is where you go to find them.
How do I write a missed connection?
Titles for text posts should be formatted this way: [something about the person you made a connection with] - [m4w / w4m / m4m / w4w]* - [general date and time of the connection]
A few good examples:
- Pink hair, big hoodie, and small shorts; I like your smile - m4w - Katipunan station
- Kamukha mo si Paraluman, tayo ay bata pa - w4w - Taft Avenue
- Cutie, didn’t we play footie? - w4m - Saguijo last night

*If you’re wondering what the m’s & w’s mean, they stand for man looking for woman, woman looking for man, and so on.
In the body of your post, you can expound a little on your title, and what went down during the connection. You could say something you weren’t able to then, such as, “Sorry I threw up on your shoes. Can I buy you a drink so you can throw up on mine?” Or you may not even have spoke at all: “I stared at you during the whole train ride.” The point is to let the other person know you exist, and that you’re not a psycho freak ready to abduct them if they do decide to meet you again. Unless, of course, psycho freaks are their thing. Then y’all should get married.
If you’re feeling expressive, you can also put up a photo. Not of yourself, though. There’s eharmony for that. Any photo you put up with your post should be “How You Make Me Feel.” So, if they make you feel like bunnies, post a photo of bunnies. If they make you feel like leche flan, post that. If they make you feel like Payatas, by all means, put it up.
As for tags, it’d be nice if you were neat enough to type the m4w or whatever plus the location, just so you’d be easier to find. If not, maybe we’ll do it for you. Maybe not.
